Cow Shade (Goshala)

In Hinduism, cows are given the status of mother and serving and protecting cows is considered a virtuous act. Even today, the first bread (Roti) is set apart for cows. A gaushala has also been built in the Arogya Sadhana Ashram where cows are kept, served and nurtured. Cow is a symbol of love and motherhood. We get Panchagavya by serving cows.

Panchagavya is the combination of cow's milk, curd, ghee, cow dung and urine. Benefits of these are :
1. Cow's milk and ghee remove body weakness.
2. Drinking cow urine provides relief from skin and many other diseases, cow urine is also used for treating many diseases like cancer.
3. The curd and buttermilk made from cow's milk provides glow to the skin and hairs.
4. Scent of cow dung has medicinal values. The smoke of cakes of dried cow dung (kandas/upalas) increases the Oxygen in the atmosphere and helps in curing breathing problems.
5. Touching the cow with love helps in removing mental stress.

Arogya Sadhna Ashram at present has 30 cows and calves all together.
